My motto is Labor Omnia Vincit (Latin for “Work Conquers All”). It mirrors my belief that any goal can be accomplished via guided effort. I am passionate about instilling the knowledge, skills, and confidence that people need to achieve their dreams.
I studied Neuroscience and Psychology at Duke University, and I conducted Neuroscience research at Duke’s Center for Cognitive Neuroscience. I scored in the 99th percentile of the SAT, ACT, GRE, GMAT, and IQ test.
I worked at Kaplan Test Prep and Admissions for 10 years, helping students through every step of the application process to European and North American universities. I reviewed thousands of essays, giving me knowledge of common mistakes to avoid and of what makes a great essay.
My years of experience as an admission interviewer for Duke University have given me insight into the admissions process. I was the 2018-2019 Chairman of Duke University’s Alumni Admissions Advisory Committee for the country of the Philippines, coordinating (conducting or assigning) all interviews for applicants to Duke University from the entire country. I have conducted hundreds of mock interviews to help students ace admissions interviews.
Helping students from Europe, North America, Asia, South America, Africa, and Australia gain admission to top undergraduate and graduate schools has given me a truly global perspective on the admissions process. Besides my work as Director of College Counseling Services at UNI Student Advisors, I have been invited by China’s largest private educational company to present admissions seminars across China (e.g. Beijing, Tianjin, Shanghai, Chengdu, Wuhan, and Nanjing) in 2019.
I am an International Coach Federation (ICF) Professional Admissions Coach. I partner with students, eliciting their personalities, interests, motivations, and goals to help them craft the most compelling applications possible. A few of the schools to which I helped students gain admission and scholarships to are Harvard, Duke, Columbia, Stanford, Dartmouth, Rice and Vanderbilt in the USA, Oxford, Cambridge, UCL, London Business School and King’s in the UK.
